About Us
The VIK (Very Important Kids) Club program is designed to support the needs of today’s working families. It offers a safe and fun-filled extended learning environment for Gilbert Public Schools (GPS) families, serving students in Preschool through 6th grade. The VIK Club is proud to provide a variety of activities and opportunities that complement the educational programming of Gilbert Public Schools, while promoting personal growth through life skills development, strong relationships, and fostering a sense of self-worth.
The VIK Club program is available at 24 of the Gilbert Public Schools elementary campuses. The hours of operation are as follows:
- Before School Program
- After School Program
- 2:55 PM – 6:00 PM
- 1:55 PM - 6:00 PM (Early Release)
- 11:55 AM - 6:00 PM (Half-day Release)
Before School Program
The VIK Before School program includes breakfast and offers a variety of fun, educational activities. Students in Preschool through 6th grade are released 10-15 minutes before the start of the school day. Preschool and Kindergarten students are either walked to, or picked up and escorted to the playground by VIK site staff or a school teacher.
After School Program
The VIK After School program includes an afternoon snack, quiet time for homework, outdoor activities, active games, S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) activities, and a variety of free-choice options, such as board games, free drawing, and a quiet area for relaxation.
Program Schedules and Fees
Program fees are billed monthly, based on the schedule selected for each student.
- Invoices are emailed on or after the 25th of each month for the upcoming month.
- Payment is due by the 1st of each month.
Registration Fee
A non-refundable registration fee is charged once a contract is approved.
- Early Registration Discounts:
- $25.00 if registered by May 31st
- $35.00 if registered by June 30th
- Standard Registration Fee: $50.00 (effective July 1st and on)
Schedules
Parents may choose from the following schedule/contract types:
1. Consistent Schedule - For students attending Monday–Friday on a regular, ongoing basis throughout the school year.
- AM Session (M - F): $11.61/day
- PM Session: (M, T, TH, F): $16.45/day
- PM Session - Early Release (W): 16.45/day
- PM Session - Half-day: $30.50/day
Please Note: 1) For Monday - Friday PM care, you need to select BOTH Early Release & PM sessions in the Consistent schedule.
2) If you select the PM Half-day in the Consistent schedule, this schedule includes all of the Half-day releases in the 26/27 school year. If you do not want all of the days included, please select the PM Half-day in the Pick Your Day schedule.
Families that select a Monday - Friday, AM & PM schedule will receive a 10% discount on VIK AM/PM rates (This does not apply to the PM Half-day session rate).
- AM/PM Sessions (M - F): $25.26/day
2. Pick Your Days Schedule - For students attending a variety of days and sessions during the week (e.g., Monday AM, Thursday PM, etc.).
- AM Session: $13.31/day
- PM Session - Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: $19.29/day
- PM Session - Wed, early release: $25.72/day
- PM Session - Half Day: $34.72/day
- PM Session - Wed & Half-day, early release: $19.29 (with Building Block contract)
Building Blocks contracts with VIK
Families with a Monday–Friday Building Blocks contract receive a 10% discount on VIK PM rates when enrolled in a Monday–Friday, PM or Monday - Friday, AM/PM VIK schedule.

Invoicing and Payment
- Invoices are issued on the 25th of the month prior to the upcoming month of care. If the 25th falls on a weekend, invoices will be issued on the following Monday.
Payments are due on the 1st of every month.
Exception – July Child Care: Due to the shortened month, July child care invoices will be issued on July 13 with payment due on July 17. - A $25 late fee will be applied to any account with payments not received by the due date.
- As part of program policy, parents are required to maintain an active AutoPay method on file.

Please note that the Community Education Business Office is closed during all holidays and breaks.
